You are riding your Razor scooter. Suddenly, it dies.
The light on the switch goes out. The motor won’t spin. You try to charge it, but the light stays green.
You probably tripped the Circuit Breaker (Reset Button).
This little red (or black) button is designed to pop out and cut power if the motor gets too hot (usually from riding up hills or exceeding the weight limit). To fix it, you just need to push it back in.
But first, you have to find it.
Razor Reset Button Location List (Cheat Sheet)
Every model hides the button in a different place. Find your model below to stop guessing.
| Razor Model | Reset Button Location | Does it have a Fuse? |
| E100 / E125 / E150 | On the Battery Tray. You must look through the opening near the front wheel (under the deck) or unscrew the deck cover. | No (Internal Breaker) |
| E200 / E300 (Old) | Next to the On/Off Switch. Look for a small black rubber circle. | No |
| E200 / E300 (New) | Near the Motor. Look on the side of the battery box, near where the charger plugs in. | No |
| Pocket Mod (Vespa) | Under the Seat. Open the storage hatch. It is near the charging port. | No |
| Power Core E90 / E95 | NO BUTTON. These models use a 30A Fuse inside the battery wires. If it dies, you must replace the fuse. | Yes (Glass Fuse) |
| MX350 / MX650 Dirt Bike | On the Plastic Body. Usually located near the On/Off switch or the main battery cover. | No |
| Crazy Cart | Next to the Charge Port. Located on the black plastic cover behind the seat. | No |
How to “Reset” It Properly (The Secret Trick)
Many people push the button and say “It didn’t work!” That is because they are pushing it wrong.
-
Wait 5 Minutes: If the breaker is hot, the metal inside is expanded. It will NOT click back in until it cools down. Wait.
-
The “Click” Test: Push the button firmly.
-
Did it click? Good. You reset it. Turn the power on and ride.
-
Is it loose/wobbly? If it feels like a loose tooth and doesn’t click, it was never tripped. Your problem is likely a dead battery or a bad throttle, not the breaker.
-
-
Does it Pop Immediately? If you press it, start the scooter, and it “POPS” again instantly, your Motor is shorted or your Controller is fried. You need new parts.
“My Model Has No Button!” (The Hidden Fuse)
If you have a Power Core E90, E95, or some older E100s, you will not find a button.
These scooters use a generic automotive fuse (usually 30 Amp).
-
Open the Deck: Remove the screws on the footboard.
-
Find the Black Box: Locate the battery. Follow the Red (+) wire.
-
Find the Capsule: You will see a small plastic capsule on the wire. Open it.
-
Check the Fuse: If the metal wire inside the glass/plastic is broken or black, the fuse is blown. Replace it with a new 30A fuse from an auto parts store ($5).
When to Buy New Parts?
-
Battery: If the reset button isn’t popped, but the scooter is slow or dies in 5 minutes, you need new 12V 7Ah Batteries (Link).
-
Breaker: If the button is physically broken (plastic cracked) or won’t stay in, you can buy a “Replacement 7 Amp Reset Button” on Amazon for $8.
